About Summer Young

I’m Summer Young, a Los Angeles-based filmmaker, director and cinematographer with more than a decade of experience telling stories through film.

My work is driven by curiosity about people, culture and the places that shape them. I’m especially drawn to documentary and travel filmmaking that goes beyond the surface, stories that introduce audiences to communities, perspectives and experiences they may not otherwise encounter.

Over the years, I’ve worked across films, music videos, live productions, photography and branded content, collaborating with artists and creatives both in front of and behind the camera. That experience has shaped the way I work today: visually driven, collaborative and always focused on finding the human story.

As I continue to expand my work in documentary and travel, I want to create films that feel cinematic, immersive and honest, work that makes people curious about the world and the people in it.
